Join us and be part of something bigger.

We have paved the way for excellence in Integrated Care and in July 2016 took the  pioneering step to form one of the first Integrated Care Organisations.  We now provide adult social care services alongside our established healthcare services, which has given us the chance to develop better, more joined up ways of working that deliver improved outcomes for the local community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated doctor who wishes to acquire experience within Cardiology at an Outstanding Trust.

You will be an integral part of the Cardiology Team at Salford Royal working alongside an experienced team of Consultants, Junior Staff and specialist nurses.

The post will involve inpatient management and outpatient management within a relatively flexible job plan. Salford provides a comprehensive DGH cardiology service with our consultants having subspecialty interest in intervention, devices, imaging and heart failure.

There is an on-site nuclear myocardial imaging service and the trust is supported by a full range of non-cardiology medical and surgical services. You would work with 7 consultants: Dr N Abidin, Dr A Cooper, Dr A Fitchet, Dr P Kingston, Dr A Kumar, Dr J MacDonald and Dr P Woolfson, and a supporting team of junior and middle-grades and specialist nurses in the Cardiology Department at Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust are working together under the leadership of Chief Executive, Sir David Dalton to establish a Group model where local NHS organisations will share a governance framework to reduce variations in clinical practice, accelerate improvements in patient outcomes and also improve productivity.

This provides exciting opportunities for collaborative working, to work efficiently, grow our capacity and improve quality.

The post duration is initially for 12 months and is potentially renewable.

Full or Limited GMC registration is essential.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
